PM Dahal Updates Parliament Gold Scam Investigation and High-Level Commission Formation Process

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' provided an update to the House of Representatives regarding the investigation into the recent 60 kg gold scam at Tribhuvan International Airport and the progress made in forming a high-level commission for further inquiry.

During the parliamentary session, Prime Minister Dahal shared that the Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police had already completed its investigation into the gold scam and submitted its report. He informed the parliamentarians that a process to establish a high-level commission had been initiated, in accordance with the understanding reached among various political parties.

He stated, "Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police has already submitted the report after completing the investigation in the gold scam. A process to form a high-level commission has moved ahead as per the understanding."

In addition to discussing the gold scam, Prime Minister Dahal addressed the issue of the physical attack on Joint General-Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Mahendra Yadav. He expressed the government's serious concern about the incident and assured that action would be taken against those responsible.

Prime Minister Dahal emphasized the government's determination and commitment to preventing the recurrence of such incidents and maintaining peace and order in the country.

Regarding the tragic incident of a 13-year-old girl, Rejisa Gopali, who passed away due to a lack of timely treatment at the emergency unit of Kanti Children's Hospital on September 4, Prime Minister Dahal assured that if anyone was found guilty in this case, appropriate action would be taken. He also mentioned that steps would be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

Prime Minister Dahal informed the parliament that Kanti Children's Hospital had formed a three-member probe committee to investigate the incident, and the committee had already submitted its report.
